Hello world!

It been 6 years since my last blog, and so much has changed since then. I’ve grown up a bit, but so has the business world, particularly when it comes to using the internet. Social media has taken off, and is changing (or has changed) the way that people are doing business.

Websites are so easy to create these days, but they aren’t necessarily the end-all, be-all that they once were. Facebook, twitter, pinterest, blogs, mobile apps – people are using these to buy, sell and promote their services. It is getting easier to start a small business in New Zealand – every 2nd mum seems to own some sort of online work-from-home business. There’s even a word for it – Mumpreneur.

But are all these businesses surviving? Are they all legal? Are they paying their taxes? How can you tell the difference between a quality home-business and a ‘scam’?

This is my blog – the diary of ONE Mumpreneur, struggling to pay rent, raise children AND run a business in New Zealand. I suck at spelling, I sometimes swear…but I always tell it like it is.

Am I surviving? I guess time will tell…
